WELCOME TO THE 2008 CONFERENCE

Dear delegates and faculty advisors,

It is our honour to graciously invite you to the Hong Kong Model United Nations Conference 2008 presented by the Hong Kong Model United Nations Club (“HKMUNC”).  Our dedicated committee members have been working industriously for the past few months to make the conference an unforgettable experience to you.

This year’s conference will be held on January 25-27, 2008 with three committees, including World Health Organization, Economic and Financial Committee and Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee, to spark the interest of delegates.  Recognizing the inexorable trend of globalization, the conference theme of this year is “Global Village”.  Topics of different committees are chosen under this theme. Delegates are encouraged to debate on benefits and threats brought about by the integration of the world fully.

HKMUNC, a subsidiary of Hong Kong Youth and Tertiary Students Association (HKYTSA), was founded in the year of 1993.  HKMUNC aims at broadening students' horizons and enhancing their understanding of the globe by organizing a wide variety of training programs and the annual Model United Nations conference. With the support of Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Education and Manpower Bureau, Constitution Affairs Bureau and the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau, HKMUNC has become one of the most understanding MUN organizations in Hong Kong.

Registration for HKMUNC 2008 is now open.  You are encouraged to apply early.  On this website you will find most of the information you need.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through emails.  We look forward to seeing you in this November.

Sincerely,
Wendy Ng
Secretary-General
